Round 2 - Wellington

Round 2 saw us back in the capital city, Wellington, where chasing and wall riding was at the top of our list. Taking notes from our performance in round one, we pushed hard all weekend to match the line and aggression we pursued on the wall during Tauranga's stadium round. With Wellington being the last of the tight based stadium rounds, we knew what we had to do to achieve to a good run in qualifying. A faultless car saw us qualifying 3rd giving us a bye run in top 24 battles and straight into the main event.

Facing Jaron Olivecrona in top 16, we were both put to the test as both drivers were favourites and consistent all round. After a strong lead run on Jaron's door, Jaron knew he had to push his car to the limits on his lead to keep up with our S15. Unfortunately for Jaron, he spun in front of me which saw me progress to the top 8 battles where we faced Ben
Jenkins.

Our battle with Ben was similar to our top 16, both very competitive drivers, both having good qualifying runs and both cars running well all weekend. Our lead run saw us pushing hard against the wall, running all the clipping points and huge angle. Unfortunately Ben was on our door the whole lap, and not being able to better Ben's chase saw us leaving wellington earlier than we had wished for. We did, however, improve our chasing abilities during round 2, and this had us more confident behind the wheel ahead of round 3 at Hampton Downs.
