Round 3 - Hampton Downs

Engine troubles in our competition car weeks prior to round 3, meant that we were unable to rebuild our engine in time to have the Falken S15. This meant we were then forced to run my new S15 for round 3 which was unfinished and untested.

After a near sleepless week, prepping a car that was only 80 percent finished, I went into a round extremely fatigued and exhausted. Obviously not an ideal situation for an competition. However we still had one goal in mind, to win. We had literally tested the car 12 hours prior to competition, surprisingly that went well. We still had to work all night to check every last nut and bolt and torque settings throughout the car including prepping all our gear. The next morning was competition day, with not much practice in the car I didn't feel as comfy as normal and unfortunately went on to have some mechanical problems in qualifying which only gave me one pass. I managed to score a 76.5 putting me in 16th position, and into top 24 battles with troy Jenkins.

My lead run against Troy was awesome however my chase saw me make a huge mistake giving Troy the win and unfortunately ending our weekend at Hampton downs. Gutted we were leaving another round earlier than hoped; the effort we put into completing the new S15 in time for competition, being able to drive it AND prove its level of competitiveness against the D1NZ field, made the weekend all worth it and left us looking forward to round 4 at Pukekohe.
